The idea

You have won a tender or two. What should you go after now?

Most small businesses answer that question with a guess, or by chasing whatever tender lands in the inbox. It is slow, expensive, and easy to aim at contracts you were never going to win.

TenderSpace answers it with evidence. When thousands of firms win one kind of work and then reliably move into another, that is a real, walkable path, not a hunch. We map those paths across all of South African government procurement, then let you stand on your own footprint and see the ground next to it light up.

Think of it as a map of skills, not a list of tenders.

Why you can trust it

Public data. Anonymous by design. Free.

The map is not an opinion. It is computed from the government's own award records with a published, peer-reviewed method (the same economic-complexity approach behind Harvard's Atlas of Economic Complexity), and every number can be traced back to source.

  • Open, official data

Built from the National Treasury eTender portal (OCDS), published under a public-domain licence. Download the full dataset yourself.

  • No firm is named to you

The public map only ever serves aggregate categories and links. It never profiles an individual company, which keeps it POPIA-safe.

  • Honest about its limits

The method, the assumptions and the gaps are written out in plain language. It guides a decision, it does not make it for you.

  • Free and login-free

The whole map works with no account and no cost. An optional sign-in only saves your selection and sends opportunity alerts.
